A Bit About Me

After graduation I jumped into my career in the schools where I began helping students, teachers, and families. This has given me the opportunity to work with people from many different backgrounds. I’ve learned that there is never a one-size-fits-all way to support someone, and I truly enjoy getting to know what makes each person unique.

About My Therapy Approach

I believe therapy is about more than simply managing symptoms. I want to understand the person behind what is bringing you to therapy and take the time to explore the deeper “why” behind what you are experiencing.

I approach therapy with curiosity, especially when it comes to exploring the harder things in life. Together, we can look at where your thoughts, emotions, and patterns come from, how they may be affecting your life today, and what you want to do differently moving forward. My goal is not just to help you feel better in the moment, but to help you understand yourself on a deeper level and develop tools that create lasting change. I bring authenticity, curiosity, and a genuine desire to understand each person into my work with clients.

Some of my expertise include but not limited to:

  • Trauma

  • Grief and Loss

  • Relationship Issues

  • Burnout

  • College Concerns

  • Low Motivation

  • Stress Management

  • Emotional Regulation

  • Communication

  • Life Transitions (moving, career changes, college, or break-ups)

  • Personal Growth & Self-Discovery

My Professional Journey

School Mental Health Consultant

Adjunct Professor

Crisis InterventionTrainer

School Social Worker

As a School Mental Health Consultant, I support individuals navigating complex emotional and behavioral challenges using a strengths-based, person-centered, and trauma-informed approach. I use CBT, mindfulness, and practical skill building to help people better understand themselves, manage difficult emotions, build confidence, and navigate change.

As an adjunct professor, I have the opportunity to build meaningful connections with graduate students while helping them develop the knowledge and skills they need to become successful. I enjoy making complex ideas feel approachable, creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, and helping people recognize their own strengths and potential. This experience has strengthened my ability to connect with others, teach in ways that meet different learning styles, and support people as they grow.

As a certified Therapeutic Crisis Intervention in Schools Trainer, I train and support educators through challenging moments. This work has taught me the importance of staying grounded, understanding what may be happening beneath a difficult reaction, and approaching challenging situations with intention rather than judgment. It has also strengthened my ability to help others feel supported and confident when things feel overwhelming.

As a School Social Worker, I supported students through emotional, behavioral, and interpersonal challenges while providing individual and group counseling. I helped kids, parents, and teachers understand their emotions, build coping skills, navigate relationships, and more.

Grief Counseling Training

I completed a specialized grief counseling course through the American Academy of Grief Counseling, including training in death, dying and mourning; grief counseling for helping professionals; grief therapy; and working with grieving children. Through this training, I developed a deeper understanding of the many ways grief can affect individuals and families and how to support people as they navigate loss and life after loss.

A Peek Into My Life

Outside of my work day, I find I have two seasonal modes! In the warmer months, you’ll find me chasing the sun, whether that’s exploring new travel destinations, enjoying nature, or seeking out food spots and delicious desserts. When winter arrives, I love cozy evenings at home with a hot drink, a good mystery show, action movie, or a puzzle. Year-round, I’m at my happiest spending quality time with family and friends, getting lost in a good book, or just catching up over a great meal.
