Before you chop your hair...
We’ve all had that “new hair, new me” moment after something wild happens. Before you schedule the appointment, try asking,
"Is it the hair that needs changing, or something else?"
Try These...
Phone A Friend
Before booking that appointment, call or hang out with someone who gets you. Sometimes talking it out is all the reset you really need. Consider sharing your haircut idea with your friend, get their opinion.
Move Your Body
Go for a walk, dance around your room, stretch, do yoga, movement helps release the same “need a change” energy that fuels impulsive hair choices.
Try doing this consistently!
Write It Out
Grab your notes app or journal and ask, “What am I really wanting to feel right now?” Clarity first, haircut later.
Cook Yourself A Meal
A good meal (bonus points if it’s comfort food) can seriously change your mood. Never underestimate carbs before color.
Romanticize Your Routine
Do something small that feels good; light a candle, make your coffee fancy, or wear your favorite outfit. Change doesn’t always need to be drastic.
Check In With Your Heart
If you’re going through something big, a breakup, loss, burnout, the urge for a drastic change might be your way of saying “I need help.” That’s okay. Talking to a therapist can help you work through what’s really driving that need.
